Updated:2024-11-09 04:01 Views:178MANILA, Philippines — The government is targeting eliminating all guerilla fronts by the end of the year, Armed Forces of the Philippines chief General Romeo Brawner said on Friday.
In a Palace briefing, Brawner also said the number of guerilla fronts is already down to four from seven last July.
Article continues after this advertisement“About three months ago, we reported that there were seven remaining weakened guerilla fronts. Now, there are only four,” he said.

Two of the guerrilla fronts are in Northern Luzon, one in Southern Luzon, and another one in the Visayas area.
Article continues after this advertisementMeanwhile, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. said in his state of the nation address last July that there are no more active guerilla fronts in the country, and only seven “weakened” ones are remaining.
A weakened guerrilla front means it can no longer implement its programs like recruitment and generating resources for the armed struggle as opposed to active guerrilla fronts.
